From Brussels National Airport (Zaventem)

Most international flights arrive at Brussels National Airport in Zaventem, about 100 km north-west of Liège. Once at the airport, the most convenient mode of transportation to reach Liège without a booking is the train.

The airport train station is located in the basement (level -1) of the terminal building. There are connections between Brussels Airport and Liège-Guillemins station from 5:39 a.m. to 11.51 p.m. (you will have to change trains once, either in Brussels North or in Leuven). A single ticket costs around € 23-24.

When you arrive at Liège-Guillemins, you can either take a taxi or a bus to the city centre. There are no trams or underground trains in Liège.

If you decide to take a taxi and go straight to the conference venue, the trip should cost about € 10-12.

Remarks

  • A more expensive transport alternative from Brussels Airport to Liège is the airport shuttle, which runs 24/7 and is offered to conference participants at the 20% reduced rate of €100 (up to three people may travel in the same vehicle at this rate). The Airport 2000 shuttle may be booked by sending an email to airport2000@busmail.net, preferably at least a few days ahead of your arrival. Don't forget to mention the arrival time of your flight, your exact destination, and the fact that you are participating in a conference held at the University of Liège.
